Ales for ALS Beer Release

Join us on Saturday, July 27th, for our very special “Ales for ALS” Beer Release! We are honored to have been asked and to be the only brewery in Texas this year to participate in this great cause. The charity donates all of the hops for the brew and this blend is only available for participating breweries.

We will be doing 3 uniquely different beers, one at each of the pubs. We’re really excited to see our brewing team comes up with for this year’s blend, which consists of Mosaic, Simcoe, HBC 630, HBC 344, Sabro, Loral, HBC 692, and HBC 568 hops. We will donate a $1 for every pint sold to the Ales for ALS charity, which over the past 6 years has raised over $1,750,000 from brewers around the country brewing beers with the signature blend developed each year. Stay tuned for more details on each of the uniquely brewed beers from each of our three brewpubs.

Why are we so honored be a part of this cause every year? The Smith family (4th generation hop farmers, B.T. Loftus Ranches, and the farm our current crop year Mosaic and Loral hops come from) are good friends of ours and have been affected by the disease personally. Our brewing team has known the Smiths for the last eight years, they are wonderful people and it means a lot to participate in this program. We couldn’t do what we do without the farmers who grow our raw materials. We love our farmers.

Island Kitty PKIPA Release

On Saturday, July 20th, we release our Island Kitty PKIPA - 6.5% ABV. This Painkiller-inspired IPA was first brewed in honor of PHP Co-owner, Ryan “The Island Cat” Van Biene’s Birthday. A little background, a Painkiller, is a rum cocktail that originated at the Soggy Dollar Bar in the British Virgin Islands.

This beer, with a cult following, is brewed with flaked oats, flaked wheat and showcases heavy handed dry-hop additions of last harvest’s hand-selected Amarillo, Simcoe, Ekuanot and Huell Melon hops. All of this along with over 300 lbs. per 15 bbls of fruit puree straight from the Oregon Fruit Fermentation, including pineapple, blood orange, coconut, and nutmeg for some island authenticity. The result is a truly tropical IPA, with a full body, some underlying hop character, and it basks in the notes of juicy pineapple, tropical fruit, coconut, and nutmeg. If you need a vacation in a glass, head over right meow, the Island Kitty will not disappoint.

Stay tuned for more release details in the coming weeks!
